SAINTES MARIES DE LA MER (Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur)
The village :
Welcome to Saintes Maries de la Mer, the « capital » of the Camargue, a beautiful village where monuments and nature come together. Here, narrow, cobbled streets wind the village and houses are built around the famous fortified church. A place of tradition and pilgrimage, the village is located where the Rhone river enters into the Mediterranean sea.
Kiteboarding spot: Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer (shared by Sylvain)
Do you dream of kiteboarding with lots of room, without dikes, and the possibility of doing several miles of shoreline? This kiteboarding spot in the Mediterranean is for you. Go pass the campers area, then the dike and continue for 500 m. There is parking on the sand. The departure can be from here. The spot works very well by thermal breeze: South West or South or South East. Be careful of the wind from the North East, the spot is off and the wind is very irregular, so not recommended. The spot is right next to the village, and after being « admired » for kiteboarding for ¼ of an hour, your group can walk to the city centre to enjoy an ice cream! 🙂

To change from kiteboarding in the Mediterranean, we present you a spot on a lake. It is totally unique, the surrounding environment and the wind conditions that can be found gives it an exceptional character! Operating with the tramontane wind, it is quite difficult and gusty. Indeed, getting into the water is not easy because the launch area is small and there are some trees. The wind often varies in strength and direction and requires a good observation of the water.

At 10 km from the kiteboarding spot, Jérémie welcomes you to his house in the middle of vineyards and in the heart of one of the best spots of the Hérault department. Jérémie practises a range of sports (kiteboarding, SUP, mountain biking, etc.) and a state-certified kiteboarder. He can therefore give you introductory or advanced courses! With a large garden and the essentials to make you feel at home, this is the place to spend a few days. What’s more, a few steps away, you can also take a dip in the river.

On the limestone coast of Provence, this park is known throughout the world for its sublime landscapes, but also for its remarkable biodiversity and its rich cultural heritage.

Very well known and frequented spot during Spring, Autumn and Winter. In the summer season, the starting area is at the Pointe de la Beaumette. Many enthusiasts find themselves there as soon as the wind condition is favorable. However, a good level is needed because the launch area is very tight and it is strictly forbidden to go into the supervised swimming zones.

Patrice and Marie-Hélène welcome you to their 50m2 apartment. It is located on the ground floor of the Villa du Golfe, by the sea, directly opposite the kiteboarding spot, near canoeing and stand up paddle rentals that may be suitable for your family and 5 minutes walk from the schools for sailing, snorkelling, diving, at the new port of La Ciotat. You will be able to store your beach equipment, bikes, etc …
AJACCIO (Corsica)
The city :

Located at the bottom of the Gulf of Ajaccio and served by thermal breezes from the month of April until the end of October. It is a beautiful playground and departure for very beautiful walks (especially hydrofoiling) in all the Gulf … Until the peninsula of the Iles Sanguinaires!

The spot : Les Dosses (shared by Seb)
Flat spot with Tramontane winds, be careful, strong and gusty winds, this spot is reserved for the experienced. You will be able to see local champions like Seb Garat (to read his interview, click HERE) go up to more than 16m on some jumps! Parking is nearby, about 100m from the spot. Your group will be able to go to relax at the bar of the cable park located a little further down.
